Birding in Lenawee County Michigan, a group on Flickr.
Mike Dickie created this photo gallery for Lenawee birds a while ago. If you have a flickr account we would love to see your photos.
“Kwakwath” is a Native American word for Woodpecker. According to Native American mythology the woodpecker is a symbol of nurturing. I particulary like the interpretation that woodpeckers symbolize a return to our roots and a fierce determination to protect that which is sacred.
I interpret “Kwakwath Lenawee” to mean “Birders of Lenawee County”.
